Mined from: Sesepe Village, East Obi, Obi Island, South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku, Indonesia.

Description: This one of a kind Native Copper in Chrysocolla mineral specimen from Maluku Island, Indonesia is a dramatic collector’s piece with a bold, painterly surface and strong natural contrast. The front face shows reddish-orange native copper running in branching, dendritic vein-like patterns through a dark smoky brown to black matrix. Around the edges and reverse side, blue-green chrysocolla appears in pockets, crusts, and botryoidal-looking areas, adding vivid color against the earthy tan host rock and translucent silica-rich sections.

Native Copper is naturally occurring elemental copper, valued for its metallic color, conductivity, and distinctive growth patterns. Chrysocolla is a secondary copper silicate mineral that forms in oxidized copper deposits, often alongside other copper-bearing minerals. Indonesian material from the North Maluku / Obi Island area has become especially recognizable for these slab-like specimens, where coppery red patterns run through darker silica-rich matrix with bright turquoise-green chrysocolla accents.

Spiritually, Native Copper is often associated with energy flow, vitality, grounding, and conductivity, while Chrysocolla is commonly connected with calm communication, emotional balance, creative expression, and inner wisdom. Together, this pairing is often viewed as a stone combination of strength and serenity, blending the active, earthy energy of copper with the soothing and expressive qualities of chrysocolla.
