描述

Mined from: Galena Silver Copper Manganese Project, Santa Lucia mining district, Peru

Description: This one of a kind Pyrite with Galena mineral specimen from Peru features bold, blocky metallic crystal growth with large cubic pyrite forms, deeply reflective faces, and sharp geometric edges. The pyrite shows a brassy silver-gold luster with strong natural striations, giving the faces a lined, almost machined appearance. Darker metallic galena accents appear along the crystal surfaces and recessed areas, adding contrast to the bright pyrite and giving the specimen a layered, architectural look. Natural contact marks, stepped growth, and rough matrix areas preserve the specimen’s raw mineral character.

Pyrite is an iron sulfide mineral famously known as “fool’s gold” for its metallic shine and golden color, while Galena is a lead sulfide mineral recognized for its heavy feel, dark silver-gray color, and cubic cleavage. Peru is one of the world’s great sources for pyrite and galena specimens, especially from sulfide-rich mining districts such as the Huanzala Mine area, which is widely known for producing sharp, lustrous pyrite crystals and associated sulfide minerals. The exact mine for this piece cannot be confirmed from photos alone, but its form is consistent with classic Peruvian pyrite and galena associations.

Spiritually, Pyrite is often associated with protection, confidence, willpower, and prosperity, while Galena is commonly connected with grounding, focus, and stability. Together, these two minerals are often viewed as a balancing pair: Pyrite bringing bright, motivating energy, and Galena offering a steady, anchoring presence. This makes the specimen especially appealing for collectors who enjoy both strong crystal geometry and symbolic energetic contrast.
