Description

Mined from: Inagli Massif, Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia, Russia

Description: This one of a kind chromium diopside mineral specimen from Russia features a dense, compact formation with interlocking prismatic crystals displaying a vivid range of deep forest green to bright emerald tones. The surface shows a mix of glassy luster and natural etching, with sharply defined crystal faces interspersed with darker, almost opaque zones. Subtle translucency appears along thinner edges, where light reveals internal layering and rich green flashes. The specimen’s irregular, sculptural shape is accentuated by small pockets and natural fractures, adding texture and dimension throughout.

Chromium diopside is a chromium-bearing variety of diopside within the pyroxene mineral group, highly regarded for its intense natural green color. It is most famously sourced from Siberia, particularly the Inagli Massif in the Sakha Republic, where it forms in ultramafic rocks under specific geological conditions. Sometimes nicknamed “Russian emerald,” it differs from emerald in composition and structure, yet rivals it in color saturation. Fine specimens like this are valued by collectors for their natural crystal structure and vibrant coloration straight from the earth.

Spiritually, chromium diopside is often associated with emotional balance, heart-centered awareness, and connection to the natural world. It is believed to encourage compassion, renewal, and the release of past emotional burdens. Many view it as a grounding yet uplifting stone, helping align one’s energy with growth, abundance, and inner harmony, making it popular among those seeking both stability and transformation.
