Description

Mined from: Inagli Massif, Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia, Russia

Description: This one of a kind chromium diopside mineral specimen from Russia features a compact, blocky formation with a distinctly rugged and ridged surface. The structure shows strong vertical striations and intergrown crystalline sections, creating a bold, textured appearance with deep grooves and layered growth patterns. Its overall shape is irregular yet substantial, giving it a solid, sculptural presence.

The coloration is a rich blend of deep forest green and darker, almost black zones, with vivid flashes of brighter emerald green visible where the crystal catches the light. Semi-translucent areas appear along thinner edges and fractured planes, adding depth and dimension. Natural beige to off-white mineral veining runs through the specimen, highlighting its geological formation and adding contrast to the darker tones. The surface exhibits a mix of vitreous and slightly matte textures, with sharp edges, natural fractures, and intricate internal patterning visible from multiple angles. These features create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow across the specimen, enhancing its visual complexity and raw beauty.

Chromium diopside is a chromium-rich variety of diopside within the pyroxene group, known for its intense green coloration. It is most commonly sourced from Siberia, particularly the Inagli Massif region, where it forms in ultramafic geological environments. Often compared to emerald for its насыщенный green hue, chromium diopside remains a distinct mineral valued for its natural crystal habit and vibrant color.

Metaphysically, chromium diopside is associated with the heart chakra and is believed to support emotional healing, compassion, and renewal. It is often used to encourage connection with nature, release stagnant energy, and promote balance and personal growth.
