Description: These mid grade Colombianite specimens from Colombia feature natural glass pieces with smoky grey, brown, honey, and translucent charcoal tones. Each piece has an irregular surface with natural pitting, grooves, rounded edges, and weathered texture, giving the material a raw, earthy look. These are mid grade specimens, making them a good choice for collectors, crystal shops, educational displays, wire wrapping, carving practice, and customers looking for Colombianite at a more accessible grade.
Colombianite is commonly sold as a Colombian tektite, but its exact classification is debated. Colombianite is also called Piedra Rayo or Cali glass, a form of obsidian glass that resembles a tektite and is therefore often classed as a pseudotektite.
Colombianite is often associated with transformation, spiritual insight, ancient wisdom, grounding, and personal discovery. In metaphysical use, it is commonly connected with deep meditation, energetic clearing, and working through old patterns. Its smoky translucent appearance and “lightning stone” nickname make it popular with collectors who enjoy unusual natural glass specimens with both geological and spiritual appeal.
