Description

Mined from: Morrison Formation, Utah, U.S.A.

Era: Mesozoic
Geological Age: 155–148 mya

Description: This one of a kind dinosaur bone fragment from Utah has a dark polished face with deep black, charcoal, burgundy-red, brown, and grey mineral areas. The preserved bone cell structure is visible in patches across the surface, while the rough outer edges keep the piece looking natural and fossil-forward instead of overly finished. Its low, broad shape makes it easy to display as a cabinet specimen.

The Morrison Formation is a Late Jurassic rock unit famous for producing dinosaur fossils across the western United States. During fossilization, mineral-rich groundwater moved through the porous bone, preserving the original internal texture while gradually turning the bone into stone.

Spiritually, dinosaur bone is often associated with strength, endurance, grounding, ancient memory, and survival. This darker fragment has a heavy, ancient feel, making it a strong display piece for collectors drawn to deep-time fossils and natural history.
