Description: Moldavite originates from the Earth and is a tektite. When a meteorite hit Earth almost 15 million years ago, the impact of the giant ball of fire coming down instantaneously caused the area of earth it hit to turn to glass. Thus, Moldavite was created during the meteorite impact event and does not originate from outer space. Tektites are found all over the planet, but Moldavite is specific to the Moldau River area.
It is still currently mined, but only by one company with the rights. Many people dig it illegally in the area, but the police are cracking down on this as political power that owns the mine is forcing the authorities to do so. Thus, supply is dwindling.

Moldavite is a stone of transformation that rejuvenates and heals the body. Moldavite is connected to the heart chakra which means the stone encourages us to open our hearts and let go of negative emotions.  Moldavite is highly spiritual and helps us awaken our psychic abilities while vibrating at a very high frequency.
