Description

Locality: Saddle Mountain, Washington and north of Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A. (a mix from both dig sites)

Geological Age: mixed; the Saddle Mountain pieces are Miocene (about 15 million years old)

Description: Petrified Wood is the name given to wood that has been fossilized through the process of permineralization, which is when the wood becomes buried under sediment or volcanic ash and is preserved from lack of oxygen.
This is a bottle of petrified wood chips. These could be used in multiple ways like jewelry, crafting, display, etc. The wood chips are a mix from two of my favourite dig spots: Saddle Mountain, Washington, and a site about 20 minutes north of Quartzsite, Arizona. They're the small chips left in the bottom of my bucket after I collect the big chunks, so rather than throw them out or tumble them, I bottle them for you.

Approximate Size of 1 bottle: 12.5cm x 3.5cm x 3.5cm
Approximate Weight of 1 bottle: 145g

Quantity: 1pc
