Description: Spinosaurus is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period. Spinosaurus is one of the largest known carnivorous dinosaurs, estimated to be up to 50-60 feet long. It had a long, crocodile-like snout, conical teeth suited for catching fish, and a large sail-like structure on its back formed by elongated neural spines. Spinosaurus lived in a semi-aquatic environment, likely spending time in both water and on land. Fossils have been found in what is now North Africa. Primarily piscivorous (fish-eating), Spinosaurus likely hunted aquatic prey, using its adaptations to catch fish in rivers and lakes.
