Description: This one of a kind tanzanite specimen has a strong natural crystal form with a rich violet-blue body color and a noticeably transparent to translucent interior. The crystal shows sharp faces, clear vertical growth lines, and a tapered, sculptural shape that gives it a refined look even in rough form. Depending on the angle, the color shifts from a cooler blue-violet to a softer lavender tone, which gives the piece more depth than a flat, uniform stone. Tanzanite is the blue to violet variety of zoisite, and it comes from one small mining district in northern Tanzania.
