Description: This one of a kind amethyst butterfly geode mounted on a stand from Brazil features two matched amethyst geode sections arranged like butterfly wings on a black metal display stand. Each side has a dark green-grey natural basalt rind, a pale quartz border, and a purple amethyst crystal interior with small to medium points. The crystals range from lighter lavender along the edges to deeper purple toward the centers, with plenty of reflective faces visible up close. The mounted stand makes it easy to display as a finished statement piece for a home, shop, office, or mineral collection.

Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz, coloured mainly by trace iron and natural irradiation over time. Brazil is one of the best-known sources for amethyst geodes, especially from basalt-hosted deposits in the southern regions of the country. Geodes like this form when mineral-rich fluids enter hollow cavities in volcanic rock, leaving layers of quartz and amethyst crystals as the cavity slowly fills. This piece has been cut into two wing-like sections and mounted to give it a clean decorative shape while still showing the natural geode structure.
