Description

Description: Heated Red Brazilian Agate (sold as red onyx) is agate from Brazil that has been heat-treated to enhance or change its natural color. It may also be dyed, so its colour should not be treated as natural. Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz) and is known for its banded appearance and vibrant colors. Brazilian agate is a type of agate that is found in Brazil and is highly valued for its quality and beauty.

To create heated red Brazilian agate, the stone is first cleaned and then heated in a furnace or oven. The heating process can change the color of the stone by causing chemical reactions in the mineral structure. In the case of red agate, the heating process typically intensifies the natural red color of the stone, making it more vibrant and striking.

Heated red Brazilian agate (red onyx) is often used in jewelry making, such as beads, pendants, and cabochons, as well as in decorative objects like vases and bowls.
