Description: Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed from the rapid cooling of lava, which doesn’t allow crystals to form. This gives it a glassy appearance and smooth texture. It’s typically black or dark in color, but it can also occur in other hues, such as brown, gray, green, and even rainbow-like iridescent varieties, depending on impurities and the chemical composition of the lava from which it is formed. It is primarily made up of silicon dioxide, just like quartz, but with no crystalline structure.

Obsidian is widely considered a protective stone. It’s believed to create a shield of energy around the user, protecting them from negative energies, psychic attacks, or emotional manipulation. It is often used in spiritual practices for protection during meditation or when working in energetically sensitive environments. It is associated with the root chakra.
