Description

Origin: Concepcion del Oro, Zacatecas, Mexico

Description: Chrysocolla mixed with calcite is a mineral combination that is found in several locations worldwide. However, Mexico is known to have some of the most beautiful and unique chrysocolla and calcite specimens.

Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper silicate mineral that is known for its vibrant blue and green colors. It is often found in association with other copper minerals such as malachite, azurite, and cuprite. Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral that comes in a variety of colors and is often found in sedimentary rocks.

When chrysocolla and calcite combine, the resulting mineral specimen is a unique blend of blues, greens, and whites. The calcite forms in white or beige veins or patches that stand out against the blue-green chrysocolla matrix.
