Description: Scyphocrinites crinoids were animals that were rooted to the seafloor by a stem and filtered the water for food by many armored feeding arms. Sometimes Crinoids were called sea lilies because of their flower-like appearance. Crinoids are some of the Earth's earliest animals. These pieces of Crinoid stems are well preserved and contain much detail. The horizontal lines surround the entire stem and are spaced rather evenly as they ascend the column's tapered stalk.
