If you have ever done knife sharpening on a grinding wheel, you'll know there are little table supports that flip down in front of the wheel. Rig up something like this. I just stack a couple 2 x 4 wood off cuts in front of the wheel and brace the tool on top- works like a charm to create a true, flush surface on the silicon carbide.
