Origin: Greater Sunda Islands of Indonesia called Sulawesi.

Made of: The large yellow clasts are most likely when the rock was fractured through tectonic processes. These fractures were filled with hot hydrothermal fluid that had high quantities of silica. When the fluid cooled the silica was deposited as gemmy chalcedony and quartz.

Mined: Maligano Jasper is mined in very small batches and it's done by hand. The rock is carefully removed from the earth and sold.  

Care: Wash with mild soap and a soft cloth. It can air dry or use a nonabrasive towel to dry it.
