Description: These polished palm stones are cut from Madagascar petrified wood, a fossilized remnant of ancient forests that flourished over 200 million years ago. Through the slow replacement of organic material by minerals—primarily silica—each piece preserves the structure of the original wood down to its cellular level, while acquiring vibrant hues from trace elements like iron, manganese, and carbon. Madagascar’s petrified forests are particularly admired for their warm color spectrum—reds, creams, ambers, and even purples—making these stones visually distinct from their more monotone counterparts found elsewhere.

This variety of petrified wood is known for its dense, stable polish and intricate internal banding, making it a favorite among collectors and tactile stone lovers alike. The palm stone shape fits naturally in the hand, showcasing the beauty of time, pressure, and transformation in a format that’s both display-worthy and soothing to hold.
