Description: Ruby in kyanite, is a unique and visually striking gemstone combination that comes from India. This stone features the vivid red of ruby crystals embedded within the blue, green, or grayish matrix of kyanite.

Ruby is a variety of corundum (sapphire) that gets its red color from trace amounts of chromium ions trapped within the crystal lattice. These chromium ions cause the Ruby to fluoresce a bright red-pink color under UV light. Kyanite is an aluminum silicate mineral that typically forms in elongated, bladed crystals. Kyanite is most commonly blue but can also be found in green, black, and occasionally in white, gray, or even colorless forms.
