Description
Origin: Brazil
Description: Rutile is the term for titanium. It is inside the quartz. Many pieces have a hematite star at the bottom where the titanium grew from simultaneously with the quartz. Some of the pieces have rutile blades floating throughout. Rutile quartz is one of my favourite material types because it can look like star wars lasers trapped inside of a quartz crystal.
Chemical Composition: SiO2

Inclusions: This rutile quartz is not clean, it definitely has inclusions. It is totally workable as cabs, but it only has areas of transparent quartz mixed with opaque areas.

Rough is rough. We do our best to grade and describe pieces in the lot, but ultimately, they all differ.
