Description
Origin: South Africa
Description: Stichtite is a rare, purple to pink carbonate-hydroxide mineral that forms as an alteration product of chromite-bearing serpentinite. It forms as a secondary alteration mineral when chromite-bearing ultramafic rocks undergo hydration and weathering. Due to its low hardness it best suited for low impact lapidary work but durability can be increased by stabilizing the stone or adding backings.
Stichtite is known as a gentle yet powerful stone for emotional healing, higher awareness, and spiritual growth. Its unique purple to pink hues are often associated with heart-centered transformation, emotional resilience, and connection to higher consciousness.
