Description: Bismuth is a crystalline white metal that is solid at room temperature, however, it doesn’t take much to melt it. Once heated and after cooled back down, Bismuth organizes its molecules into really interesting shapes. When matter organizes its molecules into a more specific pattern, it creates a crystal. Bismuth forms what is known as a hopper crystal that exhibits a stairstep crystal structure and has iridescent colour which is produced by an interference of light within the oxide film on its surface.
